SEL Tip #26: Emotional Regulation is the ability to exert control over one's own emotional state. (The first step is some self-awareness and identifying that emotion.) It involves behaviors such as rethinking a challenging situation to reduce anger or anxiety, hiding visible signs of sadness or fear, or focusing on reasons to feel happy or calm. This skill takes practice. How are you modeling or practicing emotional regulation, both professionally and personally?
